The Fun Events Group is proud to be connected to the Excel Football Academy.

The The Excel Football Academy has teamed up with leading London-Based Event and Travel Management company that own the Hackney Travel Centre in a groundbreaking move which will see both businesses invest in the local community in a project which kicks off next month.

This football academy will see over 20 out of contract players based at the spiritual home of grassroots football, Hackney Marshes, to ensure that they have a second chance at fulfilling their dream of playing professional football.

“Since returning to the UK last year, I have noticed a lot of changes in football and the opportunities for players who have found themselves out of contract.” said Matthew Pearson of PowerGoldberg Sports Management. “Everyone is feeling the difficulties in this tough economic time and by not charging the players to train with us, and the partnership with Hackney Travel has enabled us to organize our tours around the country and provided us with new kit for the players which has helped tremendously.”

FIFA Agent Mamadi Danfa added “The idea of bringing the players in to train give us a fantastic opportunity to see what players are able to move into the professional game. Our core business is to sell these players and we hope that we will uncover some unseen stars as yet.”

Hackney Travel Centre is part of the Fun Events Group (www.funevents.com). Established since 1997. Its core area of work is helping enhance corporate communication skills and offer reward and recognition through tailor-made travel incentives.

Training takes place each Wednesday and Thursday at Hackney Marshes at 10am.
