Depart the hotel by coach and head to the Dead Sea.

Jerusalem lies on the border of desert land. To the west is lush green country, while to the east, in sharp contrast, is the arid Judean desert. The journey towards the Dead Sea takes visitors through the most intriguing and mysterious scenery. The busy, noisy urban environment is soon replaced by untamed desert panoramas , rocky hills and the characteristic brownish yellow of this spacious desert territory leading straight to the unbelievable blue of the Dead Sea, the lowest place on earth at 400 meters below sea level.

These dramatic surroundings have over the ages provided refuge for people seeking to escape civilization for one reason or another: it was here that King David fled from the anger of Saul; Elijah the Prophet hid in these very caves; the Essence sect likewise fled here from persecution at the hands of the Greeks in Jerusalem; Christian monks sought isolation in monasteries built on the desert cliffs ; and more. Today the lowest region in the world is occupied by a number of lively and modern villages whose residents share one common factor: a love of the desert and the daily encounter with the forces of wild nature.

The Judean Desert of present times is known for the production of a variety of minerals , such as magnesium, potassium and bromides for export throughout the world. Its bathing venues and therapeutic spas welcome thousands of visitors seeking medical and cosmetic treatments that exploit the renowned healing powers of the region’s natural resources – the waters of the Dead Sea , the famous black mud and year-round sunshine . Visitors arrive from all over the world to enjoy and benefit from the many spas, beaches and treatments available here.

At the same time, the Judean Desert is equally popular for its wide variety of hiking routes at different levels of difficulty, breathtaking desert attractions and a pervading sense of calm and true freedom not found anywhere else.

The program:

Upon arrival at the southern Dead sea area the group will be divided into 2 teams.

Team – 1 : will start with a 2 hours hike including challenging rappelling in Nachal Tamar , a beautiful small gorge carved in limestone which descends from a natural platform towards the valley.

Team – 2: will start with a 2-hour biking tour along the fascinating Amiaz plateau the flower cave and Prazim wadi.

Both groups will meet for picnic lunch after the 2- hour activity and switch the activities.

With a dramatic history dating back more then three thousands of years , this is a city that never ceases to change, to evolve, presenting a different face for every era, a new countenance with every season . Indisputably one of the most beautiful and magical cities in the world , made only the more entrancing by its ancient history, its many flavours and colours. Some of the world’s most important and fascinating historical sites are concentrated here. Every corner tells a tale, every building records a landmark event. A visit to Jerusalem is at one and the same time a journey through a time tunnel and an encounter with the bustle and activity of a vibrant modern city

Modern-day Jerusalem is a richly colourful human mosaic made up of Jews, Arabs, Christians - the secular, the ultra-orthodox, Rabbis, priests, monks, nuns, yeshiva students, college students, diplomats, government employees and much more. Walk along the dim stone streets and alleys and you are equally likely to come across unkempt students or young girls in fashionably skimpy clothing, severely dressed nuns and dedicated pilgrims.

The visit will include the incomparable Old City with its massive surrounding wall and four distinct quarters: Jewish, Muslim, Christian and Armenian. This is where you will find the principal holy sites such as the Western Wall and David’s Tower, which are sacred to Jews; the Church of the Holy Sepulcher, Via Dolorosa and other important pilgrimage destinations sacred to Christians; and of course the Dome of the Rock and Al-Aqsa mosque , both important holy sites for Muslims. In addition to the many religious aspects of the Old City, the lively Middle Eastern markets with their distinctive smells, sounds and atmosphere have their own unique character, creating a marked contrast with the wholly modern world outside the wall.

The Idea:

The group will be divided into teams of up to 10 participants. Each team will receive a kit which will include:

Streets numbers and name map of the old city, periods chart of Jerusalem. An assignments book for the day that will take them to all the main locations in the old city where they will learn about each site in a different way.

Each team will have to solve a series of questions and riddles that has to do with the history of The old city , the inhabitants during the different periods, as well as meet interesting people of today's life in the city – vendors in the market, religious people, archaeologists and more. They will have to recognize and learn spices, food types of the different origins in the old city, historical periods and architectural identity signs

Israeli Folklore Dancing Lessons

Israeli folklore grew out of Jewish tradition influenced by the cultures of many different countries, such as Yemen and the countries of Eastern Europe.

At the same time, this folklore is also dynamic and constantly changing, preserving its traditional roots while incorporating elements of contemporary culture, evoking a sense of mysticism and physical beauty that touches our hearts.

The Hora Dance is the most popular of The Jewish folk dances and played a foundational role in modern Israeli folk dancing. It is usually performed to the music of Hava Nagila. To start the dance, everybody forms a circle, holding hands, and steps forward toward the right with the left foot, then follows with the right foot. The left foot is then brought back, followed by the right foot. This is done while holding hands and circling together in a fast and cheerful motion to the right. Large groups allow for the creation of several concentric circles.

We suggest that the group dress in white or black for the dancing lesson.

Each member will receive a colored sash to signify his or her group.

A professional instructor will run the groups through the different steps and at the same time introduce them to the different cultures and music that make up the “melting pot” of Israel.

The activity promotes personal achievement in the contest, as well as being a team game – which is the foundation to a success in the modern companies of today.
